Here are some proposed interpretations of
everyday expressions and terms. These help demonstrate
the universality of the temporal aperture concept. Every
function falls under the umbrella of temporal aperture. The list can go on endlessly:
"collective
subconscious" = all (so far) noncognized parts of
your temporal aperture volume
"Become your brother's keeper", "Do unto
others...", etc. = denotes inclusive temporal aperture
"Kill all nonbelievers" = exclusive temporal
aperture example
"Leonardo da Vinci" = inclusive temporal aperture
"semper factotal" = inclusive temporal
aperture (Latin - "always doing everything")
"no shirt, no shoes, no service" = temporal aperture
excludes certain partially dressed persons
"handy person" = inclusive temporal aperture
"come one, come all" = illusory inclusive temporal
aperture in a sales context
Maria in "The Sound of Music" has a colorfully
inclusive temporal aperture:
"Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things
Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things"
And so on....
The proposed general principle
is that a maximally inclusive, that is to say extensive,
temporal aperture is preferable. Our temporal aperture
boundaries are set in many ways - social influences, physique,
gender, genetic influences, tastes, desires, fears, etc.
Temporal aperture expansion involves doing battle with all of
these forces, and that's why it was indicated on
page 5 that such development is extremely challenging and
stressful..
